Bengaluru (May 05): Controversy has arisen in the state over a video shared by the Karnataka BJP on social media platform X. The Congress has filed a complaint with the Election Commission against BJP president JP Nadda, social media leader party Amit Malaviya and Karnataka BJP president BY Vijayendra in connection with the video. The Congress said that Prime Minister Siddaramaiah and Rahul Gandhi got their teacher in this video.
In a letter to the Chief Electoral Officer, the Congress said that a video shared by the Karnataka BJP threatened Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (SC-ST) people not to vote for a particular candidate. It is said that this was done with the intention of creating a feeling of hatred and enmity against the SC/ST community. Many controversies have arisen on social media about this video.
BJP has been accused of violating the code of conduct
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi were shown in animated form in the video, which violated the model code of conduct, the letter said. Not only this, they tried to show with the help of the two leaders that the Congress party favors people of a particular religion and oppresses the SC/ST and OBC community. The Karnataka BJP posted the video on Saturday night (May 4).
Ramesh Babu, Head of Media and Communication, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee, wrote the letter. In the letter written to the Election Commission, a screenshot of the video posted by the BJP was also shared. Also, a question has arisen as to how permission was given to upload such a video. BJP and Amit Malviya always post such hateful messages, he said.
