Leaving from Jaipur for Mumbai on Monday morning, I did not find a driver to drop me at the airport. I took a taxi and obviously arrived late. Since it was a Doodhwala flight (early morning), there was no doubt that the flight was late. In fact, these flights depart well before time and do not shy away from turning away passengers who arrive late.

I had 5 minutes to get there before the departure gate closed and I arrived in exactly four minutes thanks to the biometric technology, which recognized my face and quickly let me inside the airport. I remember, many people used to miss flights due to security procedures at Mumbai-Delhi airports, Bengaluru airport also had the same problem.

Mumbai-Delhi airports have been busy sending messages to passengers asking them to arrive 3 hours early for a 55-minute flight, while Bengaluru airport has worked quietly and adopted a biometric system for smooth passenger movement from external security to the interior of the aircraft. It worked to save time not only in security queues but in all passenger facilities.

After a year of smooth operation of this process, Bengaluru Airport asked Civil Aviation to look into it. He liked the idea. Eventually, their efforts evolved into a technological system called Digi Yatra App, which can be used even in mid-sized airports like Jaipur, which are now more crowded than before. Bengaluru is the pioneer of this technology.

The beauty of it is that you can use it at different airports once you check in. In the future, this new biometric system will be linked to the passport and immigration processes of international travelers. Passports will only be left for stamping. By combining face ID with flight details, the airport aims to create a personal digital assistant for every passenger. Along with flight alerts, it will also tell you about the busiest area or entry gate and even where to eat.

In the future, it will tell you about your luggage loaded in the plane and like the Amazon Go concept, it will also help pay for any purchase through facial recognition. After all, technology is expected to make experiences smooth, seamless, enjoyable and error-free. At the same time, it also prevents mistakes from happening, not only in airports but also in municipal bodies!

Take the example of Dehuroad Cantonment Board spread over 9500 acres in Pune, which will generate only Rs 1.8 crore by 2022. Only property tax received. With the help of technology, it will increase to Rs 6.5 crore in 2023. find! Until 2022, all taxes were collected based on old records recorded in accounts and computers. And new houses couldn’t be included in it because the owners didn’t even say this honestly.

But in 2023, Amit Mane, Defense Estates Officer, Pune Circle, initiated the drone survey and it was the first successful drone exercise conducted by a cantonment in the country. They presented an accurate picture of each property, which corresponded to old records and confirmed the size of the area. The property tax changed based on their assessments.

The bottom line is that India may have missed the culture revolution of big malls, unlike the western countries, but India has jumped into the digital world better than any other country in this world. You should not miss any opportunity to be a part of it.
