In the case of child rape in Ambala, Haryana, the court has sentenced three youths found guilty to 20 years imprisonment. Along with this, a fine of Rs 10,000 each has also been imposed on the three. In case of paying the fine, the offenders will have to serve an additional sentence of one year.

Ambala District Magistrate Manoj Kumar Vashishtha said that on March 3, 2020 the father of a child had complained to the Ambala City police station that Harsimran Singh, Gagandeep Singh and Jaskirat Singh had molested the child for the past 4-5 years. They have also made a video of her child and they are also threatening her. After the case was registered, an investigation was conducted by the police.
The police recorded the statements of the child, his family members and his witnesses. Along with medical evidence, other evidence was also collected. Mobile phones and laptops were recovered from the accused. Voice samples of the accused were also obtained and sent to FSL for investigation. After the investigation was completed, a report was registered under Section 173 CrPC.
He said the three accused were convicted on May 22 under Section 6 of the POCSO Act and Section 506 of the IPC. On May 27, the court sentenced the three convicts to 20 years each and fined them Rs 10,000. For not paying a fine, he was sentenced to an additional 1 year imprisonment.
