A fine of 1.1 lakh rupees was collected in 3 days.
Penalties for car owners
The Bengaluru Water Supply and Sewerage Board has collected a fine of Rs 1.1 lakh in three days from 22 violations related to use of boreholes for drinking water and car washing.

Notice on 10 March
The BWSSB issued a notification on March 10 informing the public of a fine of Rs 5,000 for each violation of the use of drinking water. It has identified activities such as car washing, gardening and major construction projects to ban drinking water, The Times of India reported.

“Between Friday and Sunday, we ordered and collected 22 cases. People acknowledge fines and are given receipts like traffic police,’ said BWSSB president V Ram Prasat Manohar.
