GUWAHATI: In the latest development in the ongoing crackdown on drugs, Udalguri police have intercepted and confiscated a substantial quantity of cannabis worth around ₹1.4 million.
The operation was carried out by a team from Mazbat Station near the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border, within the jurisdiction of Mazbat Station, on March 25.

The seizure marks a crucial milestone in the police’s efforts to curb the illegal drug trade in the region. The intercepted cannabis, with its high market value, highlights the size of the illegal drug network operating along the border areas.
Law enforcement agencies initiated legal action against the individuals involved in the transportation and distribution of the seized drugs. The seizure comes as part of the state’s initiative aimed at eradicating drug-related activity.
