New Delhi (A.20): The hearing of former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia’s petition in the Delhi Liquor Scam case was held at the Rose Avenue court on Saturday. The CBI strongly opposed his bail plea and called him the mastermind of the fraud.

After hearing the arguments of the investigating agency, the trial court reserved its verdict on Manish Sisodia’s bail plea. Now the court will give its verdict on April 30. Manish Sisodia was in jail for months in the Delhi customs policy revocation case. Aam Aadmi Party leader Sanjay Singh was granted bail, while Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was arrested on March 21 in the same case.

Manish Sisodia had filed an interim bail application in the trial court demanding that he participate in the Lok Sabha election campaign. Sisodia’s lawyer said that the court has now reserved the decision on general bail and therefore the interim bail application is withdrawn. On the other hand, the CBI has opposed Manish Sisodia’s general bail application. The CBI said they should not be granted bail. The CBI called him the mastermind of the alcohol scam. Manish Sisodia is currently in Tihar Jail.
