The seized vehicle
A car, electronic devices and financial documents were seized today following searches in Donegal and Dublin.
The operation, led by the Bureau of Criminal Assets, was conducted as part of an ongoing investigation of crime targeting assets, including real estate, all or part of which derives from proceeds of criminal activity.
A 2023 Volvo XC90 was also seized along with approximately 73,000 euros in a bank account.
This particular investigation was supported by a number of Good Citizen Reports (GCRs) and also assisted by a Divisional Asset Profile.
Support was provided to CAB officers by Gardai attached to Milford District, Donegal Division, the Armed Regional Support Unit, the Garda Canine Unit and the Garda National Drugs and Organized Crime Bureau (GNDOCB).
Over 70 staff were involved in 23 searches across Donegal and Dublin West. These locations include residences and business premises.
Today’s searches relate to an ongoing investigation into the assets of individuals suspected of involvement in international drug trafficking.
This organized criminal gang (OCG) operates within this jurisdiction, as well as in Scotland, Spain and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
