1. Interim bail for Jet Airways founder Naresh Goyal: In jail since September in a money laundering case, he said in January – I will die in jail.
The Bombay High Court on Monday granted two months interim bail to Jet Airways founder Naresh Goyal in a money laundering case. He will be released from Mumbai’s Arthur Road Jail after 8 months. Naresh was arrested on September 1, 2023. The court asked Goyal to post a bail of Rs 1 lakh. They will not be able to leave Mumbai without the court’s permission.
Goyal requested bail on medical and humanitarian grounds. He is undergoing treatment at Reliance Hospital. Both he and his wife Anita Goyal suffer from cancer. However, the MLA objected to the granting of bail and said that his stay at the private hospital could be extended by a month.

Gautam Singhania, Chairman and CEO of Raymond Apparel and Clothing Company, said his personal life has nothing to do with his business. He said, ‘I don’t want to comment on what happened between us. I am fully focused on my business and will keep an eye on the results.
In fact, Singhania announced separation from his wife Nawaz Modi Singhania on November 13, 2023. Recently, three Raymond Group companies removed Nawaz Modi from their board.

3. BSNL will start 4G service across the country from August: The technology will be local; Started from Punjab, added 8 lakh customers there
Public sector telecom company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) will start 4G service across the country from August this year. The PTI news agency gave this information on Monday (May 6) citing an official. According to the agency, this service of BSNL will be completely based on indigenous technology.
This indigenous technology has been jointly developed by a consortium consisting of IT firm Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and telecom research organization C-DoT (C-DoT). Through this, BSNL started 4G service in Punjab and added about 8 lakh customers.

4. Shark-Tank sent a legal notice to startup ‘Dorje Teas’: T-Company used a clip of the show in its advertisement, which was accused of copyright infringement.
The makers of Sony’s upcoming reality show Shark Tank India have sent a legal notice to tea startup company Dorje Teas for copyright infringement. Saprash Aggarwal, co-founder of Dorje Teas himself gave this information.
Sparsh Aggarwal said in a LinkedIn post that he received this legal notice regarding copyright infringement for using clips of his feature on the YouTube show and in his meta ads. He said every startup that appeared on Shark Tank is now cracked.

5. Jio, Airtel, VI apply for spectrum auction: Base price ₹96,317 crore for eight bands, DoT expected to get ₹10,000 crore
Telecom operators Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea have submitted a request to bid in the spectrum auction to be held from June 6. This information was given by news agency PTI on Monday (May 6).
Earlier, in the last auction held in 2022, Jio had spent the maximum amount of Rs 88,078 crore on 5G spectrum. At the same time, the name of the Adani Group company suddenly appeared among the bidders. However, there is no new name in this auction.

6. Vodafone-Idea is in talks with Nokia and Ericsson: the company can place orders to upgrade the 4G network in June-July, a 5G deal is also expected to be included.
Telecom company Vodafone Idea (VI) is in talks with European providers Nokia and Ericsson to upgrade its 4G network. Economic Times gave information about this in one of its reports. According to the report, the talks gained momentum after the next IPO, namely the Rs 18,000 crore FPO.
The company may spend around Rs 13,000 crore to expand the 4G infrastructure. After the elections, the company can place a purchase order in the months of June-July. It may also include a 5G deal. However, the company has not yet given official information about it.
