The capital has only one fire station for a population of about 24 lakh. According to the National Fire Advisory, there should be one fire station for every two lakh population. This means that there should be at least 12 fire stations in the city. Four new fire stations were supposed to be opened in Ripur, but due to the policemen’s negligence, none could be opened. The state government provides a budget provision of 32 million rupees for new fire stations every year. But the program could not get out of the files. Due to this, the budget has been delayed since 2018-19.

The municipal company offers to build a new fire station four times
