An order issued by the Union Home Ministry on April 2 has become a topic of discussion among IPS and CRPF officers. Binod Kumar Singh, a brilliant IPS officer of the Uttar Pradesh batch of 1994, joined the CRPF as ADG on central deputation in June last year. He got the In charge of the Special DG in the North East Zone of the force.He has now been sent back to his parent cadre.
Normally, it is very rare for a serving SHBS officer to return to his parent cadre even before the end of the one-year period. Sources say that such an order is seen only in two circumstances. First, the SHBS officer must be recalled from his term by the state government due to some special reasons.
It is also possible that the same officer will receive a large and important position in the country. Their special experience should be taken advantage of. Second, there should be a major complaint against any IPS. There may have been some financial irregularities or serious allegations like embezzlement. It also appears that the concerned officer has been sent on leave for some reason.
IPS officers who come intermittently to CAPF or any other central agency usually serve for five years. In certain circumstances, they get an extension of two years. During his tenure in the Uttar Pradesh government, VK Singh had the image of a powerful officer. He is considered among the officials Govt’s confidants.He also worked as ADG Security in UP.He also served as OSD to Union Minister Rajnath Singh.After returning from deputation, he got an important responsibility in UP Govt.
