Blue corner notice issued to find Prajwal Revanna! How different is it from the Red Corner? Here are the details Achi-News

Bengaluru: Former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda’s grandson, son of former Minister HD Revanna, MP Prajwal Revanna, who is facing allegations of sexual harassment of hundreds of women, is in trouble again. A blue corner notice has been issued against JDS-BJP alliance candidate Prajwal Revanna from Hassan Lok Sabha constituency.

Currently, Prajwal Revanna is said to be absconding in connection with this case and has fled to Germany. Karnataka Home Minister G. Parameshwar, a Blue Corner Notice has already been issued against Prajwal Revanna. All the countries have been informed through Interpol, through which a trap has been laid to trace Prajwal Revanna.

The Karnataka Congress government has taken the obscene video case seriously and has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the case. The aggrieved women raised their complaints before the SIT and an FIR was registered against HD Revanna and Prajwal Revanna. As her indecent video went viral, Prajwal Revanna went into hiding and fled to Germany. Prajwal Revanna escaped during the second phase of polling on April 26. So now a blue corner notice has been issued against him.

How many types of Interpol Notice are there?

Interpol notices are international appeals for help tracking down criminals or alerts that allow the police of member countries to share important crime-related information. It has seven types of notifications: red, yellow, blue, black, green, orange and purple. A Blue Notice is issued to gather additional information about a person’s identity, location or activities in connection with a criminal investigation.

The SIT had earlier submitted an application to the CBI, the nodal agency for Interpol cases in India, seeking the issuance of a Blue Corner Notice against Prajwal Revanna. This notice will help the investigating agencies to continue their enquiry. After giving a warning, Interpol member countries check if the accused person from another country is staying anywhere in their country. In CBI it is called a Series B Notice. It is a type of investigation notice, which relates to someone’s identity, criminal record and investigation.

How is Blue Corner different from Red Corner?

Green Corner Notices are usually issued before or immediately after criminal charges are filed. But through a red corner warning, the absconding accused is forced to be arrested. This warning is usually given after someone has been convicted of an offence. A Red Corner Notice is a request for extradition or major action against any accused or criminal in the world.
