Currently, the election battle is at its peak in Satara, the country of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. BJP has declared a descendant of Shivaji Udayanraje Bhosle as its candidate. He gets the benefit of being a member of Shivaji Maharaj’s family. People have special respect for him because of his work for the public. They may also benefit from it electorally. But Satara was Sharad Pawar’s political ground. Even today, it has a huge influence on the market places, the business organizations and trade unions of Satara and the NCP (Sharad Pawar Faction) people control these organizations. Since 1999 to date, no candidate from any other party has been able to win here. Due to his strong hold in these organizations and the influence of the name of Sharad Pawar, Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar faction) candidate Shashikant Shinde is giving a tough challenge to Udayanaraja in Satara.
The result of this power of Pawar was that although he has a big name and a big job, Udayanaraja was defeated from here in the last election. However, it is difficult to say at the moment who will win the elections this time under the influence of the Modi factor. Both sides have their own strengths and weaknesses.
BJP seeks labor votes
Manoj Kanhere, who was a classmate of Udayanraje Bhosle, told Amar Ojla that there is a big problem of drinking water in Satara as well. Udayanraje Bhosale has done a great job for the people here by solving this problem. Because of this, his image among the public became that of a hero. He also won a place in the hearts of the youth by bringing new stadium facilities here at a cost of Rs 24 crore. By building the highway that runs from Satara to Amaravati, the BJP government has achieved great success in creating a place in the hearts of the people here. BJP worker Sujata says that the image of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the international level and the ongoing development work going on in the state will also inspire people here to vote for Bhonsala.
