BJP MP Pradan Baruah files nomination papers from Lakhimpur Achi-News

GUWAHATI: BJP leader and Lok Sabha MP Pradan Baruah today filed his nomination papers from his Khimpur constituency.

The Lakhimpur MP filed his nomination papers in the presence of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma along with other BJP supporters.

Barua announced the same on his official X-handle saying, “I have filed my nomination for 12-Lakhimpur (Assam) Lok Sabha polls at O/o DC, @LakhimpurDist. Grateful to Hon’ble @CMOfficeAssam @himantabiswa , HMs @TheAshokSinghal, @ranojpeguassam, @agpofficial_ President @ATULBORA2, MLAs @doley_naba, @manabdeka, @rupeshgowala..+.”

The chief minister described Baruch as one of BJP’s most ardent “karyakartas” at the event and predicted that he would win by a “record margin” in the upcoming elections.

The Khimpur constituency will vote in the first phase of the Lok Sabha elections on April 19.

Assam will conduct the elections in three phases, with the first phase of polling to be held on April 19, during which voting will be held in five parliamentary constituencies of Kaziranga, Sonitpur, Lakhimpur, Dibrugarh and Jorhat. Tomorrow will be the last date for submitting nomination documents for the first phase elections, while the inspection date is March 28, and the last date for withdrawing nominations is March 30.
