BJP and Congress party leaders are in tension over the low turnout in the Lok Sabha elections in Haryana. Before the voting, there was speculation that the farmers of the state were very angry with the BJP. They will vote by breaking records on polling day. However, this did not happen.

.

Very few people came out of their homes to vote, and because of that, according to the Chief Electoral Officer Anurag Aggarwal, only 65 percent voting was possible until 8 pm on all the seats. The Congress, which hoped to benefit from the anger of the farmers, has been taken aback by this, while the BJP sees it as its advantage.

The trend that was there in the country in this general election was also seen in Haryana. In the states of the country, 64.56% voted in Rajasthan, 54.33% in Maharashtra, 69.34% in Odisha, which is less voting percentage than the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

In Haryana, 70.34% votes were cast in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, but this time the voting percentage has dropped by around 5%. In such a situation, the trend of the big states of the country is also visible in the Haryana Lok Sabha elections.

The lowest and highest voting took place on these seats
The Sirsa Lok Sabha seat in Haryana was the one where the highest percentage of votes was recorded. According to Chief Electoral Officer Anurag Aggarwal, this time the highest voting percentage was in Sirsa at 69 percent and the lowest in Gurugram at 60.6 percent.

Discussion begins on low polling in Kurukshetra
There is a lot of discussion on the Kurukshetra Lok Sabha seat because the country’s well-known industrialist Naveen Jindal is contesting the election on a BJP ticket. However, the voting percentage did not increase much in this seat either. By the evening around 66.2% of votes had been cast here.

Political experts say that the reason for low voting percentage in this seat is also the protest by farmers. The reason for this was that farmer leader Gurunam Chaduni supported INLD candidate Abhay Singh Chautala and openly campaigned against the BJP. Former AAP Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament, Dr. Sushil Gupta, appointed from the Indian league here.

Heat is also a big factor in a low turnout
Heat was also a major factor for low polling percentage in Haryana. Extreme heat is going on in more than 15 districts of the state. The situation is so bad that the maximum temperature here has remained above 46 for the last 10 days. Along with this, heat waves also occur here.

Due to the heat, schools have also been closed in 15 districts by the Haryana government. For this reason, a large part of the people who came to vote remained sitting at home.

Why less voting in Kiran area?
Congress MP Tosham Kiran Chaudhary’s low vote in the Bhiwani-Mahendragarh Lok Sabha seat also raises many questions. Around 57 per cent of votes were cast here. Political experts point to Kiran’s dissatisfaction as the reason for this.

Political analyst Ajay Deep Lather says that Kiran’s daughter, former MP Shruti Chaudhary, was this time a strong contender for this seat, but the party cut her ticket and gave it to Congress MLA Rao Dan Singh. She was very angry about this. He had expressed his opposition to Rahul Gandhi in the party’s election rally held during his visit to Mahendragarh.

There was no opposition in voting
Along with the Centre, BJP has been in power in Haryana for 10 years. Because of that, there was a strong counter argument against the government in this general election. During the campaign, it was clear from the opposition of BJP candidates that people in the state would also show their opposition in the poll, but this opposition could not be seen in the polling.

Experts say Jats, Haryana’s largest section, could not find an alternative in this election. For this reason he stayed from voting in the elections.
