Bengaluru: A curfew has been imposed in Bengaluru from tomorrow till the 26th due to the first phase of Lok Sabha polls on 26th. Bengaluru has 1737 micro polling booths, 6351 general polling booths, totaling 8088 polling stations. A joint press conference was held by the City Police Commissioner and the BBMP Commissioner who said that tight police arrangements had been made as a result of the election.

The City Police Commissionerate includes three Additional Commissioners of Police, Joint Commissioners of Police, 24 Designated Care Professionals, 52 ACPs, 118 Inspectors including the placement of category 9397 police officers. 3919 Home Guards, 11 Central Police Teams, 54 CAR and KSRP contingents deployed.
In order to maintain law and order in the Dakshina Kannada Lok Sabha constituency and to facilitate free and fair voting, a restraining order has been implemented between 6 pm on Wednesday, 24 August and 10 pm on Friday, 26 August.
