Bengaluru: A new six-lane highway (Bengaluru Mumbai 6 Lane Highway) is being constructed on the road connecting Chitradurga to Davangere with a distance of 72 km, and will be ready for service soon. This 6-lane highway will reduce travel time for commuters between Bengaluru and Mumbai.

On Monday Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari shared pictures of the construction of a 6-lane highway in this area. He described the highway as a “river of life” that connects the financial capital to the technology center.

“The 6-lane Chitradurga-Davangere route, a lifeline connecting Bangalore and Mumbai, is a time-saving, fuel-efficient and eco-friendly mode of travel. This route is not just about getting to destinations; It’s a symphony of time-saving, energy-efficient and eco-friendly travel. He is a great weaver using the natural splendor of Karnataka,” Union Minister Nitin Gadkari shared the pictures on X.

An estimated Rs 1400 crore is being allocated for this six-lane highway project of a distance of 72 km. As reported by Times Now News, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) plans to use sustainable techniques and materials such as plastics and milling materials in bituminous concrete to reduce future maintenance costs.

Union Minister Gadkari said that this project is in addition to the earlier announcement of construction of a highway between Nelamangala and Devihalli in Karnataka, which is part of National Highway-75.
