A 9-year-old boy died due to drowning in a puddle while taking a bath at Chahajana village under Madhubani district, near Nirmali in Supaul. The deceased has been identified as Kanhaiya Kumar, 9-year-old son of Binod Sah, a resident of Ward 12, Nirmali Nagar Panchayat of Sopol district.

On receiving information about the incident, police from Narahia Police Station arrived at Nirmali Sub-Divisional Hospital, took the body into custody and sent it to Sadar Madhubani Hospital for post-mortem. The relatives of the deceased said that he went to his aunt’s house in the village of Chajana on Sunday.
The villagers took out the body
Meanwhile, on Monday afternoon, he along with other children went to bathe in a nearby pool. He drowned when he went into deep water while bathing and the other two children somehow got out. The other children raised an alarm after seeing him drown. After that the people around looked for him and came out.
By then the boy drank more water. After that, the family members saw him seriously injured and took him to Hanati Nirmali Hospital. Here the doctor on duty at the hospital said that the child was brought for treatment. But he died from drinking too much water. There was chaos in the family as soon as the news of death was heard. The condition of the family members is difficult due to crying.
Narahia police station sent the body to Sadr Hospital for post-mortem. The president of Narahia police station said that necessary actions are being taken.
