Kathara Banga Samaj celebrated the Bengali Happy New Year festival with great pomp at Kathara CCL Officers Club. People from the Katara Bang community have been celebrating this festival for almost 40 years. The program started with “Oi Ujjolo Deen Baje Sapno Rangi”. Dhruv Bhattacharya, Amit Roy, Trishit Ghosh, Reena Sarkar, Putul Chaudhary, Seema Majhi, Amrita Basak etc presented cultural songs. While accompaniment was given on the tabla by Ashish Chakraborty and Dhruv Bhattacharya. Here, children like Kumari Adrija Dutta, Aisani Dutta, Paikham Shri, Mithai, Amyra, Antara Roy etc. enthralled the audience with their dance performances. While the women charmed the audience with many songs in the program which lasted until late at night. The program was conducted by Ashish Chakraborty. People like H Adhikari, Mridul Ghosh, Sukumar De, JK Saha, Somen Niyogi, JK Saha, Kaushik Dutta, Amit Roy, Pradeep Nandi, Devashish Das, Subir Rai etc played a commendable role in making the program successful.
