Hisar District Magistrate Pradeep Dahiya, using the powers given in Section 144 of the Indian Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, has banned the immediate burning of the residue left after harvesting the wheat crop in the area. Apart from this, all combine harvester owners have been ordered to ensure that a Super Straw Management System (SSMS) is installed in their combine harvesters during the wheat harvest. There will be a total ban on harvesting wheat crop by combine harvesters without SSMS. These orders will remain effective until the end of the 2024 Rabi crop season.
