GUWAHATI: The Twitter account of the Directorate of Cultural Affairs, Government of Assam, has fallen victim to a hack, with officials remaining unaware of the breach until recently.
Reports indicate that the account was hacked as early as April 4, 2024, and since then unauthorized tweets have been posted.
It should be noted that this account is followed by the official Twitter account of the Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), Assam, and Bimal Bora, Minister of Culture, Assam.
Speaking to GPlus, Meenakshi Nath, Director of Cultural Affairs of Assam said, "Will check the account immediately."
With the announcement by GPlus, another official from the culture department acknowledged the security breach, stating, "We have just reviewed the account and will take immediate steps to change the password."
