Assam: Nagaon, Lakhimpur adjusted school timetables to cope with rising temperatures Achi-News

GUWAHATI: Assam’s Nagaon and Lakhimpur district administrations have changed the teaching timetables to ensure the safety and comfort of students and educators in the backdrop of high temperatures.

Starting May 23 in Nagaon, classes will start at 8:00 am. Lower primary schools will operate from 8:00am to 12:30pm, ME schools from 8:00am to 1:00pm, and middle and high schools until 1:30pm. This provision also applies to all private educational institutions.

In Lakhimpur, classes will start at 7:30 am. The lower elementary schools will operate from 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., the middle schools from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and the high schools and upper secondary schools from 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Both districts enforced these changes to adapt to summer conditions. Both copies of the order are attached below.
