On April 4, Papo will file his candidacy for Congress symbol from Purnia. His supporters started raising slogans demanding that Papo Yadav run from Purnia itself. Some supporters lay down in front of his car and raised slogans.

He said that during the meeting with RJD Supremo, Lalu Yadav offered to contest Lok Sabha elections from Madpura seat but I refused and demanded to contest elections from Purnia seat. Papu Yadav said Purnia is my mother. I am being separated from my mother. I am the son of Simanchal. I also told my family that Purnia is everything to me.
