The Montreal Police Department (SPVM) is investigating after an incendiary bomb was thrown into a commercial building in the Saint Laurent district.
The incident happened at 3 am at a gardening business on Donahue Street near Saint Francois Street.
“The suspects smashed the storefront before throwing the incendiary device inside, then they fled in two vehicles,” said Veronique Dubuque, spokeswoman for the Montreal police. “The lighter object went off by itself and the damage to the business is minor.”
Police received a 911 call at 4:20 a.m. from someone who heard the alarm being yelled.
The case was transferred to the arson unit of the Montreal police.
