Pratapgarh. The DM ordered an inquiry into the death of a newborn during childbirth in the absence of a doctor. On Sunday, the grave of the newborn was exhumed by order of the district court. With that, the police arrested him and sent him for a post-mortem. At the behest of the family members, the management brought the body to be exhumed near the house where the child’s body was buried. In fact, as soon as this sensitive matter came to light, the administration swung into action.
In this case, the aunt of the deceased newborn filed a complaint with the police. He said that the handover of Pinky’s wife, Rajesh Kumar Yadav, a resident of Kodri village in Sangragra police station area, was done on April 28 at the illegal nursing home located on Tilauri Bihar Road, Conde. There was no doctor there at the time. The ANM present at the nursing home repeatedly consoled that the doctor was coming. Despite this, the birth proceeded without a doctor while the family members repeatedly asked to call a doctor.
Mother’s sister complained to the police after the death of the newborn
According to the family members, the ANM present at the scene announced the arrival of the doctor and asked for immediate relief for the patient. Later, when the condition of the mother and child worsened, they refused to accept them. He was asked to leave the nursing home. The mother’s sister filed a police complaint about this and a case was registered against two women. After the death of the newborn, the health department staff locked the nursing home.
Police sought permission from DM, action taken in presence of SDM
When information about this matter reached the DM, he ordered to act strictly and then the police became active. At the beginning of the investigation in this incident, the police sought permission from DM to conduct the post-mortem examination of the newborn’s body. On the orders of the district court, the body was exhumed under the supervision of Konda SDM and sent for post-mortem. The policeman says that after the report arrives, actions will be taken.
