Lahore (Web Desk) Pakistan Muslim League-N will elect the new president of the party on May 28. So far there is only one candidate for the president and that is Mian Nawaz Sharif. Compared to Nawaz Sharif, no one has submitted a bid for the presidency of the party yet. According to party spokesperson Maryam Aurangzeb, Shehbaz Sharif resigned as party president on May 11, after which Shahbaz Sharif was re-elected as acting president at the CWC meeting on May 18.
General Secretary Ahsan Iqbal announced this in front of all the leadership his resignation has not been accepted by the leadership yet.
The sources say that some people in the party seem to have objection to the name of Khawaja Saad Rafiq for the post of General Secretary, because Ahsan Iqbal has not submitted his resignation yet, while Punjab President Rana Sanaullah has to say that Khawaja Saad Rafiq is the candidate for the post of General Secretary of the party.
