Jalandhar: Four members of a family from Amravati in Maharashtra, including an 11-month-old baby, died in a horrific road accident on the Jalandhar-Pathankot National Highway on Monday.
The accident took place in Raipur Rasulpur village around 5.30 in the morning when the family was returning from the Vaishno Devi temple in Katra near Jammu. Investigating agency Kewal Singh said the family was coming in a Hyundai I20 car. That’s when he lost control and hit a Toyota Innova before crashing into a tree on the side of the road. Such was the impact, the car had completely flipped.

According to police sources, the deceased are Ganu (59), his son Lokeshwar (33), his wife Anisha (26) and their 11-month-old daughter Niharika.
Local residents rushed them to the hospital but they were declared dead, the police said. Meanwhile, two people in the Innova vehicle were injured and admitted to the hospital with serious injuries.
