According to police sources, the accused Kishore is the son of a prominent doctor in Kanpur. He was sent to a youth home and the six month old case was reopened. A case has been filed against his father for both accidents. Police said the teenager was driving the car on Tuesday. At that time it hit four people, who were injured. However, the injured were released after first aid. A case has been registered against the 15-year-old girl under sections 279 and 338 (reckless driving) of the Indian Penal Code.

Kanpur City Commissioner Akhil Kumar said that this teenager had committed a more fatal incident in October last year. Two pedestrians died at that time. Questions have begun to arise about how his father who is a doctor allowed the youngster to drive again despite being in a fatal accident. Many have joined in to criticize the family. He was on his way to the Ganga barrage when the accident occurred in October 2023, police said. As the car was speeding, it ran over two pedestrians, Sagar Nishad and Ashish Ram Charan, killing them.
Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Harish Chandra said the youth was earlier charged under Section 304A of the Indian Penal Code (causing the death of a person by negligence as involuntary manslaughter), which was later amended to 304 (involuntary manslaughter ).
Incidentally, a 17-year-old youth collided a motorcycle with a Porsche car in Pune on Sunday. Two 24-year-old engineers died on the spot after being hit by an errant car. Police said the youth was highly intoxicated at the time of the accident. The father of the accused has already been arrested in this case. The owner and manager of the bar were also arrested for serving alcohol to minors.
