The police also arrested two defendants, who were brought to court, from where they were sent to prison for further detention. According to the information, on March 7, Kalmo Bhima, a 48-year-old resident of Manjipara, went to a chathi program in the village itself. When he did not return that night, his daughter-in-law Kalmo Kosi went to look for him. She was found injured near the elementary school, with an injury below the ear. He was brought to Makos in Jagdalpur, where he died on March 11. Based on the information received from the informer, the police team reached Manjipara and arrested two accused Makdam Soma and Sudhi Joga. During a rigorous interrogation, he confessed to killing Kalmo Bhima by hitting his temple with a stone under suspicion of witchcraft. The police also found the stone at the defendant’s behest.
