A tiny village has been praised for being one of the most beautiful in the country – and it is in the ‘Garden of England’.
Chilham is between Ashford and Canterbury in Kent (also known as the Garden of England).

The tiny village is home to about 1,000 locals.
However, it was voted one of the prettiest villages in Britain last year by The Times, thanks to its medieval square and quaint old buildings.
Previous tourists raved about it too – one called it “the most beautiful village in”. Kent” while another said it was “like a postcard”.
It even got used film The Canterbury Tales and Emma as well as Miss Marple.
The main attraction is Chilham Castle, and while it is not possible to visit the castle itself, the gardens are open during the summer months on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Other attractions include the Church Mouse Tea Rooms, perfect for afternoon tea, as well as The White Horse Inn pub and Badger’s Hill Farm shop and garden centre.

It reopened in November after a major renovation, upgrading the rooms and menu.
Along with 14 hotel rooms, it also serves a variety of pub food including Japanese dumplings, Thai fish cakes and Mexican nachos, as well as a range of burgers, sandwiches and grill options.
A wine bar also opened in December, called the Tudor Peacock, which serves only alcohol Made in Kent.
Despite being a small village, it has its own railway station with two trains an hour, each to and from London.
Britons can reach London Bridge in just 45 hours.
It’s not the only village in Kent that has taken a liking to it.
Just down the road is Wye, named one of the best places to live with a 400 year old riverside pub.
Also called “Kfar al” it is also popular among travelers, being in the Kent Downs area of exceptional beauty.
