An Italian sweeper worth Rs 2 crore was damaged in a collision with a trailer in Bilaspur district. Due to this, mechanized cleaning of roads in the city has stopped. The contract company Lions does the manual cleaning of the roads with 60 workers.

The accident was so bad that the trailer driver was badly trapped in the passenger compartment. To remove it, the front of the cabin had to be pulled out with an excavator. In this case, a report was filed against the trailer driver at Chakrabhata Police Station on behalf of the Lions Project Manager.
Treating the injured in Sims
Chaman Mishra, project manager of Lions Service Limited, told the police that, at 10.30 pm on May 19, the sweeper PB 65 AK 4290 was hit from behind by the trailer driver who was driving carelessly on the Chichirda Mud main road.
In the incident, the sweeper driver Sunil Kosla was injured in his right leg and both hands and assistant Sundar Yadav was injured in his left leg and waist. The driver of the trailer as well as the workers of the sweeping machine, who were seriously injured in the incident, were evacuated for treatment at Sims Hospital.
Ordered a second sweeper from Sulfur
Anupam Tiwari, who is in charge of the municipal corporation’s cleaning department, told ‘Dinik Bhaskar’ that the contract for mechanized cleaning was given to the Lions Company. After the sweeper was damaged, a replacement machine was ordered from Sulpur (Maharashtra). During this period, 60 workers were deployed daily by the contractor to clean the main roads and paths. According to Tiwari, the cost of the Italian sweeper is 2 million rupees.
19 km of road cleaning every day with a sweeping machine
According to the corporation management, under the limits of the municipal corporation, the city bus terminal on Koni road, Vasant Vihar on Sift road, intra-city link road, Chakrabata high court road, Oslapur chicken bridge and Gaurav path are cleaned using road sweeping machines.
The rotation is fixed for this. according to which 19.9 kilometers of road are cleaned on Monday, Thursday and Saturday, and 18.4 kilometers of road are cleaned on Sunday, Tuesday and Friday. The sweeper can clean the road at a maximum speed of 50 kilometers per hour.
