Guwahati: An attempt to die by suicide was foiled today in Lachit Nagar area.
Sources at the Platan Bazar police station said that the police received information that a young man was trying to commit suicide by jumping from a three-story building near Ashok Mittakim in Balchit Nagar.
Therefore, after receiving the information, the local police and fire department arrived at the scene.
After repeated attempts, the young man was finally rescued, said an official in the fire and emergency department.
The young man’s name is still being withheld because until this report was filed, the police were conducting an investigation to find out the young man’s age. The young man was drunk, an eyewitness said.
