A 52-year-old man is hospitalized after being stabbed in Cabot Square in Montreal.
According to the Montreal Police Department (SPVM), the incident happened at 3 a.m. on Friday at the park, located at Sainte-Catherine Street and Atwater Avenue.
“When the officers arrived on the scene, they located the victim,” said Caroline Cheverfils, spokeswoman for the Montreal police. “He was conscious and injured in his upper body with a sharp object.”
He was taken to the hospital, where he is still in critical condition.
“A conflict would have degenerated between the victim and possibly two suspects,” Chaberfils said. “The suspects fled the scene before the police arrived.”
A security perimeter was established to allow investigators to analyze the scene.
Chèvrefils notes that the victim is known to the police.
