A warrant was issued for 32-year-old Lisin Zooey, who was not reported to the minimum security federal training center in Valvale, north of Montreal, on Thursday night.

Quebec provincial police say they have reason to believe he is in Ontario.

According to the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC), Zouai was discovered missing at 10:45 p.m., and officials contacted both the Laval Police Department (SPL) and the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).

Zooey is described as being 185 cm (6 ft 1 in) tall and weighing 84 kg (186 lb).

He has brown eyes, brown hair and visible tattoos, including a teardrop under his left eye and three dots on the web of his left hand.

“The prisoner is currently serving an indeterminate sentence for assault causing bodily harm and second-degree murder,” the Correctional Service of Canada said Friday.

The sentence is in relation to a case from 2011 after Zoe, then 19 years old, turned himself in to the police for killing Zsolt Chikos by stabbing him in the back.

According to court documents, at the time, Zuawi fled the scene of the crime and abandoned the weapon at the mall before seeking advice from his uncle.

“He then called the police, turned himself in and cooperated with the investigation,” the filing with the British Columbia Court of Appeal said.

Anyone with information on Zoway’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Sûreté du Quebec or call 911.

The CSC says it is investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and is working with the police to locate Zoway as quickly as possible.
