Aman Kumar, the contractor who is carrying out the works on the railway project, said that a week ago he heard from some people from a nearby village regarding the diversion. The work was then stopped. After a few days, some anti-social elements entered the construction camp of the railway project and beat up Chandan Kumar, a laborer working on the project.
In the incident, Chandan Kumar was admitted in critical condition to the Referral Hospital located in Barbiga city for treatment. As his condition was critical, he was referred to Patna for better treatment. The injured young man is being treated in Patna. His condition is still serious.
Chief Superintendent of Police of Barbiga Police Station, Vaibhav Kumar, said that information has been received about the incident. The police are busy with the investigation, they are scanning unruly people on the basis of CCTV footage, but a written complaint has not yet been submitted by the railway contractor. After receiving the written complaint, the police will register an FIR and take further action.
