Emergency crews have rushed away a person on a stretcher after a fire was extinguished outside a Manhattan court where a jury was being selected in the criminal trial of Donald Trump’s hush money.
The man could be seen lying on the ground on fire. People rushed over to extinguish the man with a fire extinguisher and tried to bat the flames.
Emergency responders then took the man away on a stretcher.
The New York Police Department said the man was taken to a nearby hospital in serious condition.
A full jury of 12 people and six alternatives had been selected in the hush money case a few minutes earlier, taking the former US president’s first criminal case a step closer to opening statements.
