A person is in critical condition after being rescued from the Chaudière River near Saint-Georges, in the Chaudière-Appalaches region, according to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).
The man who fished near [Sartigan] dam, lost his footing and fell into the river,” SQ spokesman Nicholas Schultos said.
Emergency services were called to intervene at 19:45, when the fire department is carrying out the rescue operation.
He was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
The investigation is ongoing, Schultos says.
“An investigator and a forensic technician will be dispatched to the scene,” he said.
