A man has been charged after a Glasgow flight was allegedly forced to divert Achi-News

We previously reported that easyJet flight EZY3113, which traveled to Tenerife from Glasgow Airport on Saturday, April 20, was apparently diverted to Bristol after “two passengers” allegedly “behaved in a disruptive manner”.

The pair were reportedly met by police after landing at the English airport, and the plane later continued to the Canary Islands afterwards.

Now, Avon and Somerset Police said a 34-year-old man has been charged with one count each of being drunk in an aircraft, criminal damage, disobeying the lawful orders of a pilot while on board an aircraft and using threats. , abusive or insulting words towards the staff while on the plane.

They also added that the second person involved in the alleged incident was arrested on suspicion of being drunk on an aircraft. He was released without further action.

The English force said: “A 34-year-old man has been charged after police were called after a flight diverted to Bristol Airport en route to Spain.

“(The man) was charged with one count each of being drunk in an aircraft, criminal damage, disobeying the lawful orders of the pilot while on board an aircraft and using threatening, abusive or insulting words towards the crew while on board an aircraft.

“The charges come after police were called to Bristol Airport on Saturday, April 20 at around 5pm following a report of passengers causing a disturbance on a plane bound for Spain from Scotland.

“Another person, a man in his 20s, was arrested on suspicion of being drunk on an aircraft. He was released without any further action.”

The 34-year-old was due to appear in court on Monday.

Ahead of the 34-year-old’s accusation, an EasyJet spokesman said: “EasyJet can confirm that flight EZY3113 from Glasgow to Tenerife on April 20 was diverted to Bristol, where the aircraft was met by police due to two passengers who were behaving in a disorderly manner on board.

“The flight continued to Tenerife after the passengers were removed.

“EasyJet’s cabin crew are trained to assess and assess all situations and act quickly and appropriately to ensure the safety of the flight and other passengers is not compromised at all times.

“Although such incidents are rare, we take them very seriously and do not tolerate disruptive behavior on board, with the safety and well-being of passengers and crew always being our top priority.”
