The rally, which took place on Saturday, brought together Yes supporters from across Scotland to march from Kelvingrove Park to George Square in the city.

A video shared on social media appeared to show a car driving towards the marchers on West Regent Street before a Faith in Scotland volunteer steward was seen alongside a Police Scotland officer to stop the car and force it to reverse.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “A 20-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with drug and road traffic offences.

“He was released and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date. A report has been submitted to the fiscal attorney.”

No police officers or members of the public were injured during the incident.
