One person has died north of Montreal after being hit by a truck while changing a tire on Route 15.
The incident happened at 5:15 a.m. on Thursday on the northbound Jadoun-Oimet bridge, which links Laval to Boisbriand.
Quebec provincial police said the driver stopped in the right lane to fix the flat.
“The driver went out to change a tire,” said Elisabeth Marquis-Guy, spokeswoman for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ). “A van hit him before he left the scene.”
The victim is a man in his 30s. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The police are now working to locate the driver of the truck that hit the victim. The SQ have released surveillance images of a lorry believed to have been involved in the collision and are asking anyone with information to come forward.

Two of the three northbound lanes on the bridge remained closed to allow investigators to analyze the scene.
