Hockey Nursery: In the Simdega area, an initiative was taken to explain the intricacies of hockey to boy and girl players from childhood and connect them to hockey competitions. Players in the age group of 7 to 11 years will participate in this competition. This is probably the first time in the entire country that such a hockey competition has been organized for such young players by a recognized association. This event is organized with the financial support of Jharkhand Hockey and the cooperation of Simdega district administration.
Simdega Hockey This first event of the Junior Boys and Girls Junior Development Hockey Competition will be held at the Astroturf Stadium in Simdega. This event takes place between 22 and 25 May. The President of Simdega Hockey, Manoj Konbegi, said that six teams from the boys’ category and four teams from the girls’ category are participating in the competition. The total number of players in these is 180. The game will start at 6am on May 22. While the formal inauguration will take place at 4:30pm.
It has been said that all teams will play league matches among themselves. There will be a final match between the first two teams in the position. The first match of the competition will be held at 6 pm between Simdega Gondwana Club and RC Karangaguri Middle School. It will be between Jambahar vs RC Kochedega Primary School at 7 pm and Paikpara vs Kurkura Independent Hockey Training Center at 8 pm.
