The girl was allegedly abducted from Rajasthan’s Kota, where she had gone to take coaching for an entrance exam. However, police revealed that she actually only stayed there for three days and later moved to Indore and stayed there with two of her friends, while misleading her parents by sending fake pictures and messages showing that she was still in Kota, according to reports.

Later, her parents received texts that their daughter had been kidnapped, along with pictures showing her tied up and a ransom demand of 30 lakhs.

Her father then lodged a complaint with Kota on March 18, stating that his daughter had been abducted, the media said.

On subsequent investigation, the police found that the girl’s last whereabouts were reported in Indore on March 19.

Currently, further investigation of the incident is underway as the police try to locate the girl and her friend.
