The Montreal Police Department (SPVM) is investigating after a car was set on fire in the Mercier-Hochlege-Maizeneuve district.
The force received a 911 call at 3 a.m. Thursday about the flames on rue A.-A.-Desroches near rue Saint-Émile.
“When the police arrived, firefighters were already there,” said Veronique Dubuc, spokeswoman for the Montreal police. “They acted to try to control the flames.”
Dubuc notes that the vehicle is a “total loss”.
Since the cause of the fire is unknown, the case was transferred to the arson unit of the Montreal police.
No injuries were reported.
