NEW DELHI: Air India Express has taken strict action against the employees who were given ‘sick leave’. Air India Express dismissed some employees who were on ‘sick leave’ and sent the dismissal letter to the employees.

On Tuesday, more than 200 Air India cabin crew went on mass sick leave, due to which more than 90 flights were canceled on Wednesday. It is said that Air India flights will operate less today ie Thursday as well, Air India has dismissed the sailors who went on holiday as the workers’ holiday has affected the traffic. Information has been revealed that a total of 30 employees have received dismissal letters.

According to reports, Air India Express on Wednesday terminated the contracts of some of the senior cabin crew who took leave on the pretext of ‘illness’, as their decision has disrupted the company’s flight operations and Air India has decided to lay off’ r absent workers.

Citing the reason behind the dismissal of the workers, the airline said that the concerned workers deliberately walked away from work without any valid reason. There doesn’t seem to be any reason for his disappearance before starting. Taking collective sick leave is also against rules, Air India said.

In a dismissal letter sent by the company to one of its employees, the letter mentioned that it clearly states a deliberate absence before work without any justifiable reason. Also, in a dismissal letter to its employees, the company said, ‘Your actions have not only harmed the public interest, but also caused embarrassment, serious disrepute and serious financial loss to the company.’

Speaking about this, the company’s CEO, Alok Singh, said that the company would be cutting flights for the next few days due to the unavailability of crew members. The airline had to cancel more than 90 flights as crew members fell ill. Alok Singh said that since Tuesday night, more than 100 crew members have reported sick before their normal flight duty.
