In such a situation many people come here to buy different types of beds, divans, tables, chairs and other furniture. The furniture stores remain decorated for 15 days. After the marriage of Lord Shri Ram and Mata Janaki, the procession stayed at Sitkund for one night while returning to Ayodhya from Janakpur, Nepal. The next day, a Chautri celebration was held here at Bedivan Ghar. At that time this region was in the empire of Kushwaja, the brother of King Janak. Until a few years ago there was a mango tree here, on which they were wrapped around each other like a bracelet. The elders here tell about that tree. This place is famous as Bediban Garh. This pool was built for the bathing of Mother Sita. In this framework, seven wells were built for a water source. After bathing, Mother Sita installed Mahadev Girijanath in the south-east direction of the pool and praised him. This mythological place Sitakund is located in Madhuban Bediban Panchayat of Chakia Block under East Champaran District of Bihar State. There is a popular belief about the Girijanath temple located in Sitakund that whenever a situation like drought arises in the surrounding area. At that time, people from nearby villages offer water from the pond on the Shivalinga installed in the Jirinath temple. When Shivalinga is immersed in water, it rains within 24 hours. Local people have tried it many times. Chakia SDM Shivani Shubham said that the sub-administration is committed to the development of Sitakund. The ancient temples built here, archaeological inscriptions, many ancient sculptures, ruins and the materials found in the Archaeological Survey of India give clear evidence of its mythology. An inscription was found by Corningham in 1346 AD. In 1990, archaeologist Dr. PK Maun found a punched copper coin. In 1995, Motihari Sadar SDO found five punched coins of Mauryan period. Out of which four copper coins and one bronze takshila type. These coins were sent to archaeologist SV Sohni for identification.
