The police said that Manjunath, son of Hanumava Madlari of Kuruba community, was in love with a girl from the village for the past two years. The girl belonged to the Martha community. When the girl’s family found out about the love affair, a fight broke out between the two families. After that Manjunath left the village and started living with his sister in her house. Meanwhile, the girl’s family began to prepare for her marriage. Manjunath arrived in the village last week and ran away taking the girl with him.

According to the police, the girl’s family was hurt by this. They dragged the young woman’s mother on the road and tied her to a power pole with a rope. The group of women attacked her. Three men were also involved in the fight. As soon as information was received about the fight, the villagers gathered there. He advised the accused men and women to leave Manjunath’s mother. The police said that as soon as we received information about the incident, we arrived at the scene. We sent the woman to the hospital for treatment. Based on the victim’s complaint, a case was registered against the accused under various sections and six accused were arrested.
