Three innocent children, who had come to the river with their family to cremate an elderly person, drowned in the river late on Friday night in Chhalra village, Nalkheda tehsil, Agar Malwa district. After receiving the information, when the villagers searched, the bodies of two children were found in the night itself.

The body of the third child was found early in the morning. Throughout the night, the police and the SDRF team conducted a rescue operation to search for the third child.
Came to the funeral procession with family members
The incident took place in Chhalda village, Nalkheda. Elder Babu Singh, a resident here, died on Friday. The men who were part of the funeral procession went towards the crematorium, while the women went to take a bath in the river around 5 pm. Along with them, siblings Monu (7) and Muskaan (8), father of Amarsingh, resident of Chhalda and Raju alias Pankaj, resident of Laturi village, father of Bapulal (8) went to bathe in Sal river.
When the women came back after bathing and the children were not visible, the villagers reached the river to look for the children. When children’s clothes were found in the river, the bodies of Monu and Raju were found. But there was no smile. After this the police were informed.
The police and the SDRF team searched throughout the night
Police and SDRF team reached the spot and searched for Muskaan till 05.30 am. Meanwhile, his body was found on the surface of the water. SDRF and the administrative team including ASP Nisha Reddy, police station manager Shashi Upadhyay were present at the incident site.
Dead bodies sent to hospital for PM
ASP Reddy said that the bodies of two children were pulled out by the villagers, the body of a girl was found a little in the morning. All the bodies have been sent to the government hospital for postmortem, and the matter is being investigated.
