The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday took major steps in the Rs 2000 crore excise scam in the country. The agency has attached assets worth Rs 205 crore of retired IAS, Anil Tutja, then B&L minister Arunpati Tripathi, businessman Anwar Debar, Vikas Aggarwal, Naveen Kadia, Ashish Saurabh Kadia and other accused. The assets include 18 movables and 161 immovable properties including Hotels, complexes, land, jewelry, vehicles. Attachment means that the defendant will be able to use these assets. The business will continue with the commercial property, but they will not be able to sell it.
