You will be able to earn money from short videos on YouTube – Public News
YouTube has introduced a new program through which users will now be able to earn money from short videos.
YouTube, the world’s most popular video sharing service, has announced an expansion of the platform’s monetization system that will allow more creators to become part of the YouTube Partner Program.
From 2023, those who publish short videos will be able to apply to participate in YouTube’s partner program, for which users must reach a goal of 1,000 subscribers and 10 million views of short films within 90 days.
Those who become part of this program will be able to earn money through ads on short and long videos.
The company says users who create long videos can also apply to become partners by reaching a goal of 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 hours of viewing.
YouTube has also introduced a first-ever revenue-sharing model for shorts, which will start operating from 2023.
Under this model, 45 percent of total ad revenue would go to consumers, while the rest would be distributed among music licensors and others based on views of short films.
In this regard, YouTube will also introduce a section called creator music, which will allow users to easily access the music catalog, as well as purchase music licenses, which will allow them to earn more.
The feature is currently available in beta in the US and will roll out to other countries in 2023.
