Peter Dutton has hit out at the person who turned a blind eye to Barnaby Joyce who was affected by alcohol last week, saying that was something that was reserved for him and his party colleagues.
“We’ve been walking past a half-pissed Barnaby Joyce in Question Time for years. So for some members of the public to suddenly think they are the ones to do this, it’s a bit rich,” said Mr Dutton.
The Leader of the Opposition said that the unknown member of the public was not following the correct protocol when dealing with someone in need.
“When you see someone who clearly has an alcohol problem, you don’t take a video of them and sell it to a news outlet for goodness sake. You promote them to Deputy First Minister. That’s what we’ve always done.
“It’s pretty rough when people walk past someone who might need help, without checking if they’re ready for a cabinet ministry”.
