New Delhi: North East Frontier Railway has permanently added 151 additional coaches during the last financial year 2023-2024 to provide more berths in the following mail express trains for the convenience of passenger travel. Details of coach increment are as follows: From 02.04.23 train no. 12505/12506 Kamakhya Jn.-Anand Vihar Terminal-Kamakhya Jn. (North East Express) added 496 berths by permanently extending additional coaches.
From 02.04.23 train no. 15658/15657 Kamakhya Jn.- Delhi-Kamakhya Jn. (Brahmaputra Mail) 620 berths have been added by permanently increasing the additional coaches From 01.04.23 train no. 12523/12524 New Jalpaiguri-New Delhi-New Jalpaiguri Express has been permanently extended with additional coaches to add 612 berths.
From 02.04.23 train no. 15483/15484 Alipurduar Jn.-Delhi Jn.-Alipurduar Jn. (Sikkim Mahananda Express) 576 berths have been added by permanently increasing the number of additional coaches From 26.06.23 train no. 15417/15418 Alipurduar Jn.-Shilghat Town-Alipurduar Jn. (Rajrani Express) has added 216 berths by permanently increasing additional coaches.

From 09.08.23 and 12.08.23 respectively train no. 02502/02501 Agartala-Kolkata-Agartala Special number and train. 02518/02517 Guwahati-Kolkata-Guwahati Special has been permanently increased to 415 berths by adding additional coaches.From 02.08.23 train no. 12505/12506 Kamakhya – Anand Vihar – Kamakhya (North East Express) has been permanently extended with additional coaches to add 384 berths.
From 06.08.23 train no. 15658/15657 Kamakhya Jn.- Delhi-Kamakhya Jn. (Brahmaputra Mail) has added 480 berths by permanently increasing additional coaches.From 02.08.23 train no. 15483/15484 Alipurduar Jn.-Delhi Jn.-Alipurduar Jn. (Sikkim Mahananda Express) 664 berths have been added by permanently increasing the number of additional coaches From 04.08.23 train no. 22502/22501 New Tinsukia – SMVT Bengaluru-New Tinsukia Express has added 83 berths by permanent addition of additional buses.
From 04.09.23, 05.09.23 and 01.09.23 respectively no train. 15930/15929 Tinsukia-New Tambaram-New Tinsukia Express, Train no. 15933/15934 Tinsukia-Amritsar New New Tinsukia Express and Train no. 22502/22501 New Tinsukia – SMVT Bengaluru-New Tinsukia Express has been permanently extended with additional coaches to add 249 berths.

From 17.09.23 train no. 15909/15910 Dibrugarh-Lalgarh-Dibrugarh (Abadh Asam Express) permanently increased by adding berths 1162. From 18.09.23 train no. 15707/15708 Katihar-Amritsar-Katihar (Amrapali Express) added 675 berths by permanently extending additional coaches.
From 06.10.23 train no. 15612/15611 Silchar-Rangia-Silchar Express permanently increased with additional coaches to add 256 berths.From 09.10.23 train no. 20501/20502 Agartala-Anand Vihar Terminus-Agartala (Tejas Express) has been permanently increased by adding 112 berths by additional coaches.From 03.12.23 train no. 15713/15714 Katihar-Patna-Katihar (Intercity Express) has been permanently extended with additional coaches to add 108 berths.
From 10.12.23 train no. 15612/15611 Silchar-Rangia-Silchar Express permanently extended with additional coaches to add 272 berths.From 28.12.23 train no. 15895/15896 (Rangia-Murkongselek-Rangia) Express has been permanently extended with additional coaches to add 432 berths.
From 15.02.24 and 22.01.24 respectively no train. 12505/12506 Kamakhya – Anand Vihar – Kamakhya (North East Express) and train no. 15658/15657 Kamakhya Jn.-Delhi-Kamakhya Jn. (Brahmaputra Mail) 2241 berths have been added by permanently extending additional coaches.
From 10.02.24 and 22.02.24 respectively no train. 15665/15666 Guwahati-Moriyani-Guwahati (BG Express) and train no. 15669/15670 Guwahati-Dibrugarh -Guwahati (Nagaland Express) permanently extended with additional coaches to add 810 berths. In order to reduce passenger overcrowding as well as facilitate passenger waiting lists, railways have taken steps to increase train coaches.
